THE CAST

​

Erik Austin (Buddy) is beyond excited to be working at Children’s House and bringing this role to life!   A graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (NY), Erik is the Artistic Director of Kelrik Productions. Some 20 years from its beginnings, Kelrik is still continuing its efforts happily in San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles and this year San Diego. Under Erik’s Artistic Direction the Company has received numerous awards including a very special award from the Senate of California for excellent Children’s Services. When not producing shows, you might find Erik busy teaching theatrical workshops throughout the state of California, decorating houses for Christmas  or touring his art collection “Angeles and Rainbows.” Erik is the author of 90 Days in Shadow Hills, a memoir and the proud owner of the Straight T blog and podcast where he uses his accountability coaching efforts to make the world a better place. Erik would like to thank Korey and the entire Montessori staff at CHMS for making this show happen. Erik dedicates this production to his friend John Cribb.  Here’s to the fools who dream!

 

Carey Blauvelt (Emily Hobbs) Carey is thrilled to be back on stage in her first CHMS Drama production. Favorite past roles include Sister Berthe (The Sound of Music), Grace (Annie), Mrs Gloop (Willy Wonka), the Housekeeper (Man of La Mancha), and Lady Thiang (The King and I). She misses the days of being in a show with her husband and daughters but is glad, as Erik once said, that they are out saving the world, one show at a time!

 

Lillith Byllesby Voorheis (Elf/Ensemble) This is Lillith's second performance with Kelrick. She has been in the Wizard of Oz (Munchkin) and many school plays. She also takes musical theatre classes in her free time and has drama as her elective. She hopes you enjoy the show!

 

Allison Doody (Ensemble)  Known as “off book Allie” by some, Allison Doody is a performer based in California. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Theater Arts. Projects she has worked on range from live entertainment (SF Dungeon, Billingual musicals, Shakespeare), to film work, modeling and much more. She has studied abroad at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts for a summer to cement her foundation in theatrical work. This is her first production with CHMS and she is happy to be here.

 

Melissa Enoch Rex (Ensemble) This is Melissa’s first time performing on stage since high school, but has been active behind the scenes in many student productions both at CHMS with Erik, and at schools back east.  She has truly enjoyed this experience, and hopes that you do too!

 

Lila Espy (Tiara/Ensemble) is a very funny, charismatic, down to earth 11 year old who loves playing with animals. Her passion is aerial silks and performing. This is her third play with Erik. She hopes to one day be in the circus. 

 

Shannon Gonzalez (Deb) This is her first theater production as an adult, though she has been involved with music all her life.  She has played trumpet in several ensembles throughout high school and college, including marching band, orchestra, and jazz band.  Currently, Shannon is the vocalist and plays trumpet for a local swing band, Swing for Joy. She intends to step outside her comfort zone and pursue more musical theater opportunities in the future. 

 

Camille E. Hamilton (Elf) Camille likes ballet and dancing. Her favorite animals are tortoises, cats, dogs and horses. Her favorite book is Frankenstein's Monster by Mary Shelly. She loves drawing, reading, writing and watching TV. Camille's drawing of a wolf is her favorite drawing she has done. Camille's acting experience is from the yearly plays at CHMS directed by Erik, Camille played a Mer-Sister in last year's production of The Little Mermaid.

 

Anita Hendry (Ensemble)  has been performing since 1998 with Pioneer Players, Wine Country Theater, SLO Little Theater and Kelrik Productions. Sang with the Main Street Big Band and Franks and Deans for several years and now singing for CHMS.

 

Kristina Horácek Prozesky (Music Director) is a voice technique instructor specializing in linguistics and vocal health. She has prepared many private students for leading roles, and has also directed the music for stage productions at Atascadero Junior High, Children's House Montessori, and Kelrik’ Willy Wonka. She attended Voice Performance and Music Education programs at Boston University and New England Conservatory, and held a teaching fellowship with the Boston Children’s Chorus. She also holds degrees in Linguistics and Voice Performance from the University of Texas, Austin.  As an artist, she has performed a wide range of musical styles on stages around the world, from opera in Salzburg, Austria, to theatre at Boston's historic Footlight Club. Locally, she is a frequent performer with Central Coast Gilbert and Sullivan, and sings yearly with Resonance Vocal Ensemble. She has been a soloist with Cal Poly Bach Week, Canzona Women’s Ensemble, New World Baroque Orchestra, Cal Poly Co-Opera, and Café Musique. Local onstage roles include: Kelrik's Into the Woods (Cinderella), HMS Pinafore (Josephine), The Gondoliers (Cassilda), Iolanthe (Phyllis), and The Merry Widow (Valencienne). Other favorite roles include Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey) and Tales of Hoffman (Niklausse).

Kara Huggins (Elf/Ensemble) is making her musical theater debut in Elf, the Musical. She has been training vocally since she was 7 years old and is the lead cantor for Saint Rose School Youth Choir in Paso Robles. Past performances include studio Student Spotlights, Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival Showcases, and holiday concerts. Kara, along with the Saint Rose choir, will be singing at mass at Saint Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican this summer.

Henry Knight (Elf Ensemble) is a sixth grader at Teach Elementary School. He enjoys playing outside, legos and Harry Potter. He was previously a munchkin in Kelrik’s production of the Wizard of Oz. Henry would like to dedicate his performance to his new baby brother, Jack.

​

Alex Knight (Elf/Ensemble) is a ninth grader at SLO High. He enjoys 7.5 inch scale trains, volunteering at the SLO train museum, and building RC airplanes. He was previously part of the tech crew in Kelrik’s production of the Wizard of Oz. He hopes you enjoy the show!

​

Luke Longman (Charlie/Ensemble) has with Erik for two years I’ve been in Peter Pan age 11 as a pirate and the little Mermaid as Jetsom the eel and a sous chef age 12. I have also been in Rats age 7 as an outlaw. I am always up for an acting job and will keep pursuing that dream of being an actor. 

 

Alison Napoli (Elf) is proud to be in the production of the Elf Musical.  This is her first time performing and she is very excited about it.  She loves to dance, read, write and play with her friends. She has a deep-seeded love of music and has been singing since she could talk.  She might be only nine years old, but she's got big dreams of making it big someday.

Charlotte Perrine (Elf/Ensemble)  is excited to join in on another production. She’s performed several roles around the Central Coast, most recently as Pythagorus in SLO Coastal’s It’s All Greek to Me; with Kelrik for last year’s The Wizard of Oz (lullaby league and flying monkey), the role of Becky in Gold Dust or Bust (2017). She is an artistic and creative kid who has written and illustrated many unpublished picture books. Charlotte also enjoys swimming in the pool and ocean, and spends most of her free time reading, sewing, or knitting.

Taylor Peters (Jovie) is happy to be returning to the Central Coast for a few months after spending 5 years in Seattle and a summer singing in Dresden, Germany! A PCPA ‘11 grad, she has performed with many local companies and venues including Kelrik Productions, SLOREP, Chameleon Productions, PCPA, and The Pewter Plough Playhouse. Favorite roles include Wendy in Peter Pan and Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show LIVE!, both with Kelrik Productions.

Dash Taylor (Elf) Dash thoroughly enjoyed performing in CHMS's production of Little Mermaid (sailor) last year and couldn't wait for his next show.  Dash is in 2nd grade and enjoys singing, dancing and performing on stage. He is looking forward to being a part of this Kelrik production!

​

Avery Robinson (Elf/Ensemble) this is Avery’s first production with CHMS Drama. She is very excited to be in a community play where she can be a happy elf and bring some Christmas joy to everyone who watches! Avery has also been in school plays where she has enjoyed roles such as Tessie From Annie, Shenzi from Lion King, Fauna from Sleeping Beauty, and Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Abigail Robinson (Elf) This is  Abigail’s first  production with CHMS drama she is very excited to be in a community play where she can share the joy of christmas by singing loud for all to hear! 

​

Beau Sweeney (Michael) Beau is a very nice kid when it comes to meeting new friends or much more. Beau’s fist play was Alice In Wonderland and then he said he wanted to do more acting so the next year he did Shrek then he moved to a different director and did Lion king. But his biggest play he did was Aladdin and after the audition he was super nervous. Then the next day he went to the board to see what part he got, he got Aladdin. When he heard this, he went to his parents and came up to them with a big smile saying I got the part Alladin. Then we realized he wanted to do this for an activity.

​

Joel Wadlow (Manager/Choreographer) Joel is super excited to be choreographing his very first show. While he has assistant choreographed and assistant directed in shows before like Little Mermaid and Best of the Tony's, done featured choreography for the show Wizard of Oz and for many dance recitals, this is the first time he's gotten to choreograph a whole show by himself. While he is new to the directing world, he is not new to being on stage. Some past credits include Newsies (Race), Wizard of Oz (Mayor of Munchkinland/US Tinman and Scarecrow/Ensemble), Urinetown (Tiny Tom), James and the Giant Peach (Earthworm), Shrek the Musical (Pig/Featured Ensemble), Little Shop of Horrors (Voice of Audrey 2/Ensemble), Into the Woods (Narrator/Mysterious Man), You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (Snoopy/Woodstock), Avenue Q (Gary Coleman), Drowsy Chaperone (Gangster), Willy Wonka (Augustus Gloop), Snoopy the Musical (Snoopy), and much more! Leonardo Zimmerman (Ensemble)  age 15, is very pleased to be a part of the Elf production. Leo plays trombone with the Cuesta Wind Ensemble, the San Luis Obispo High School marching band, and the High School’s jazz band. Happy Holidays and enjoy the show!

 

Ruth Zimmerman (Ensemble) age 12, is excited to play an elf is this play. Recently, she played a munchkin in the Wizard of Oz. She is a prolific artist and loves ballet. Have a wonderful holiday season and thank you for supporting community theater!
